However it's in the A-Main that the bad luck happened. Bergeron was fifth on the starting grid and was in fourth place when, at mid-race, a car came and made contact with the 8B car of Bergeron. Able to repair his car and coming back in the race, but from the back of the pack, Bergeron finished in thirteenth position. Woodhull NY... Alain Bergeron was last night at Woodhull Raceway NY and he had a hard work day.

Starting the A-Main from the back of the pack, the driver of Saint-Pie QC had to fight himself with his car and also with his opponents. It is finally in eleventh place that Bergeron passed the checkered in this A-Main. The evening had not begun very well for Alain Bergeron as in his heat race, he was fourth on the starting grid but he got out of the high grove and lost positions to finish sixth and was excluded from the inversion system of the handicap system.

June 24, 2007... Good weekend in Ontario for Alain Bergeron…

Ohsweken ON, - June 22, 2007...Alain Bergeron and his team were in the Niagara Falls ON region this weekend for two races in two evenings. Friday June 22, ESS drivers were at Ohsweken Speedway. With the hvandicap system in place, Bergeron had to deal with inversed positions and he was tenth on the A-Main starting grid. Saint-Pie QC driver made his way, and at a certain point he was in 6th place. However, lap cars combined with a track that was becoming very slick for the car setup, Bergeron lost two positions to finally finish in eight place.

Bergeron had qualified for the A-Main winning his heat race while he was second on the starting grid. Very good performance also in the DASH race with a second place finish. The DASH was one of the great moments of the evening as Alain Bergeron and Chuck Hebing fought hard in a duel for the second place in that four laps DASH race. Neither one of the two drivers wanted to give up and both exchanged the position many times. The Quebec driver won the duel.

Thorold ON - June 23, 2007… The following night, Saturday June 23, the ESS series was at Thorold ON at Merrittville Speedway and Alain Bergeron wanted, at any price, to have a great performance. fourth on the starting grid in the A-Main, Bergeron quickly made his way to the second place and found himself in the back of the leader. Trying several groves and at the bottom of the track, the leader was able to keep up and resist to Bergeron's attacks. So it's in second place that the Saint-Pie QC driver crossed the checkered.

Earlier, Bergeron had qualified for the A-Main finishing second in his heat. He had qualified also for the DASH race. The Quebec driver had kept his initial position and finished second..

Merrittville Speedway Kid's Club - During the evening program at Merrittville Speedway, Pete and Nancy Bicknell, owners of the track, had invited Alain Bergeron to participate at a 3 laps bicycle race on the Kart track against the 2006 local champion. That race was organized for the track Kid's Club. The bicycles had the colors and numbers of the driver's cars and the young fan was winning the bicycle. June 17, 2007... Second place finish at Granby - Bad luck at Drummond……

Drummondville - June 16, 2007...Saturday night, after a solid performance at Granby the night before, Alain Bergeron was confident to have a good race at Drummond, Saturday, while he was ninth on the A-Main starting grid. As early as the first lap, Russ Bennett's Sprint started a series of flips in turn #3 and several cars that followed were taken in the accident. Bergeron that just took the high grove to pass another car came very close to avoid the accident but the right rear wheel touched another car and the evening was done for the Saint-Pie QC driver, the rear suspension being damaged. Alain Bergeron had begun the evening finishing second in his heat and fifth in the DASH race. The team worked hard and the car should be ready for tonight race at Cornwall tonight (Sunday).

Granby - June 15, 2007…

Friday night, it was the first visit of the ESS Sprints in Quebec in 2007 and Alain Bergeron was second on the starting grid of the A-Main. Bergeron did a great job finishing second in this A-Main at Granby. The driver of Saint-Pie QC had won his heat race earlier in the evening.

June 13, 2007... First visit in Quebec for 2007…

The next weekend will be very loaded for Alain Bergeron and the drivers of the 'Empire Super Sprints' with three races in three evenings.

Friday evening, June 15, the ESS series and Alain Bergeron will be at Granby, while the next day evening, Saturday June 16, all will meet again at the Autodrome Drummond of Drummondville. Sunday evening, this will be Cornwall Motor Speedway, in Ontario, to welcome the drivers of the series.

Just recall that at the first race of the series championship, that took place at Utica-Rome Speedway, Alain Bergeron had been implied in an accident while a car in front of him had hit the wall to finish his ride on the 8B Sprint of the Saint-Pie driver. The car had important damages but the team had worked very strong and the Sprint is now ready for the weekend.

June 10, 2007... Weekend in Sprint Car paradise…

Alain Bergeron and his team were in the Sprint Car paradise this weekend in Pennsylvania for the 'Shot Drop/Rislone Nationals' that was held Friday at the famous Sprint Car track, Williams Grove Speedway. Saturday, the Saint-Pie QC driver was at Lincoln Speedway. It was a career first time at those two tracks for Bergeron. These races did not count for the championship for the ESS series, however it was a great occasion to compete against the URC drivers and to learn a little bit more from those two tracks were Bergeron never raced before.

The weekend started pretty well Friday, at William Grove. A fast 'Time Trial' time gave him the third spot in his heat race. Bergeron was ready, however a thunderstorm hit the track area and the track officials decided to cancel the program.

Saturday night, June 9. Alain Bergeron was joining, for a second night in a row, the URC drivers for the regular program at Lincoln Speedway; track with a lot of actions on the track and when just a simple touch doesn't give you any chance. With the URC points system in place, the ESS champion had to start from the back in his heat race, in 9th place on the grid. Despite the difficulty to find the right setup, but with a good start and a good performance for the 8 laps of the race, Bergeron finished 5th to qualify for the A-Main.

So, it is from the 18th place that Alain Bergeron started the A-Main. In the first laps, Bergeron had to avoid a big crash and he soon, find himself in 11th position. However, the setup problems mixed with the fact he did not know the track started to cause him some problems.. Bergeron found himself on the side but was able to start again from the back, fighting constantly with his car to keep it on the track.. He gained some positions but turned sideway on lap 20. It's finally in 16th place that he passed the checkered flag. Despite the deception, that visit in paradise was a great experience for the future.

Next races in Quebec and Ontario, next Friday June 15, ESS drivers and Alain Bergeron will visit Autodrome Granby and on Saturday, everyone go to Drummondville. Sunday night, Cornwall Motor Speedway will host the ESS series.

June 6, 2007... Back to Racing…

After a weekend off, Alain Bergeron and his team are going back on the road for Pennsylvania for the 'Shot Drop/Rislone Nationals' that will be held Friday night at the famous Sprint Car track, Williams Grove Speedway. It will be a first time at that track for Alain Bergeron, of Saint-Pie QC.

That race will not count for the ESS series Championship; however, the competition will be very strong as all the URC series drivers, and the Williams Grove Sprint Car regulars will be there.

May 28, 2007... Bad Luck at Utica-Rome Speedway

After a very good heat race and a long rain delay, Alain Bergeron did not end up very lucky at Utica-Rome Speedway last night.

Everything was looking great for the Saint-Pie QC driver that was starting in eight place for the ESS A-Main, but as early as the first lap, two cars got together and one of them went into the wall and came back to finish his ride on Alain Bergeron's. Bergeron was not able to avoid it and a pill out happened. The night for many competitors was done.

The evening had well begun for Bergeron that was qualified for the A-Main finishing third in his heat while he started in 7th place. Than the rain delay came for several hours. What came after is history.

"This is an event that we had no control on it, we have to live with. We will not give up and we will work harder as there is still lot of races remaining until the end of the season. Last year, we finished 22nd and 19th at the first two races of the 2006 season and we hit the wall at Little Valley to finish in 19th place at the fourth race. The rest of the season showed us that we should never give up.", mentioned Alain Bergeron.

May 23, 2007... The ESS season begins!

This is this weekend, Sunday May 27, that will begin, at Utica-Rome Speedway, Vernon NY, the official season of the 'Empire Super Sprints'. Alain Bergeron, of Saint-Pie QC and 2006 series champion, will be there.

Just recall that 2006 championship race for the points standing was very closed until the end as Alain Bergeron finished 50 points in front of Jeff VanDusen to become the very first Canadian to win the Champion title. Alain Bergeron also took the Canadian Champion title.

The successes of Team Bergeron did not stop there since, at the annual Banquet that took place at Syracuse NY in last November, Alain Bergeron had been named 'Most Improved Driver' and Hugo St-Germain had delighted the title of 'ESS Mechanic of the year'. Fully deserved honor for Hugo St-Germain as he is Crew chief with Alain Bergeron since those 7 years in Sprint Car and also during the time when Alain Bergeron was racing in Mini-Sprint.

So, this is with a lot of enthusiasms and determination that all the team attacks this new 2007 season.

May 20, 2007... Bully Hill Nationals

Alain Bergeron was, this weekend, at Rock Black Speedway, Dundee NY, for the Bully Hill Vineyards National. This event is a National race for the ASCS series, so the best USA Sprints 360 drivers were presents with 40 Sprints in the pits. Last year for that same event, Bergeron finished second in the A-Main after scoring the best time trial among the 70 drivers that were there.

Friday night (May 18): Finishing sixth in his heat race, Bergeron had to go through the B-main race to qualify himself in the A-Main main event. Third at the checkered of his B-main, the Saint-Pie driver started 22nd on the A-Main starting grid. Unfortunately, another car turned on the track and Bergeron was not able to avoid it, the front end of the car was damaged and the night was off.

Saturday evening (May 19) : For a second night, Alain Bergeron had to negotiate with a bad draw that determined heats starting positions, while he picked up the 8th starting spot in his heat race. Gaining some positions, he finished fifth. On the B-Main, fifth on the starting grid he finished fourth. Being qualified for the A-Main, the Saint-Pie driver had to start way in the back, on the 27th place. The keyword was 'dust', a lot of dust that prevented all visibility. Despite the heavy traffic and the bad visibility in front of him, Bergeron find himself in the 19th place, but the leaders were catching up and quickly Bergeron was lapped down by the leaders. He was just behind Jason Johnson, that was third at the time and just in front of the 2006 ASCS champion, Gary Wright. Alain Bergeron, not impressed, kept his position, in front of the champion Wright, for the remaining fifteen laps, and in the tail of Johnson's car.

The 2006 ESS champion completed the race in 19th. Most important is that he proved that he's able to compete with the best ones in North America.

April 24, 2007... Excellent performance at Fonda Speedway ...

Alain Bergeron and his team were at Fonda Speedway in New York state, Saturday April 21, for the '360 Sprints Open'. This event did not count for the points for the 'Empire Super Sprints' series championship, however the competition was very strong with the presence of experienced drivers. Those same drivers were a bit anxious about the condition of the track for the 20 laps A-Main race. From the start of the race, they had to deal with the turns 1 and 2 as the surface was in very bad condition and some accidents happened at that place.

Alain Bergeron had offered a excellent performance finishing in third place. Fourth on the starting grid, he was third early in the race but on a restart at mid-race, he was jammed inside turn 1 and found himself back in sixth place. Never give up, he maintained the pace to finish in third place in the A-Main.

Jan 28, 2007... Great performance and mecanical problem...

TAMPA, Florida -- Last night, it was the third evening of this Winternationals 2007 in Florida and the final big race where the best Sprint Car 360 drivers took place for the $10,000 to win. For a third evening, Alain Bergeron was disadvantaged by the draw for the starting positions in heat races. That was in sixth place that the driver of Saint-Pie QC had to take the green flag.

Well, a superb performance from Bergeron have allowed him to finish on the second spot in his qualification and its efforts of the last three days have been rewarded. This performance gave him the second place in the points behind the champion Jason Johnson, this that meant a starting spot in final A-Main.

Ninth on the starting grid, Alain Bergeron was fine ready for this final one. Unfortunately at the start of the race, the front of his car made contact with the outside wall and a simple bolt, that held a suspension bar broke itself, resulting with the front axle being loose. Bergeron's night was over.

Alain Bergeron was all even happy of its three days of competition: 'We must be pround of us since it was a first visit to this track and it was not easy in all the three nights of competition. To finish ourselves in the ninth place in the points with the best ones in North America, we had to do it. I must thank my team that worked very hard throughout this week. It is certain that this is a little frustrating to see our race finishing by a simple broken bolt, but that is part of racing.', to comment the Saint-Pie QC driver.

Jan 26, 2007... Bad luck on the draw...but Bergeron did not give up...

TAMPA, Florida -- It was the second evening of competition at East Bay Raceway Park in Florida and Alain Bergeron has, for a second time in two evenings, been victim of a bad draw for the line up on the starting grid. He was 7th on his heat starting lineup.

The competition is very strong with more than 72 drivers that are presents. With a track that is very quick where there are not much passing, the Saint-Pie QC driver finished his heat in 6th place.

Bergeron will have therefore to go through one of the B-Main race again tonight to try to qualify for the A-Main. Sixth on the starting grid of the B-Main, it won't be easy. As early as the first lap, Bergeron passed from sixth position to third. With two laps to go, Alain Bergeron gave everything from the high groove , very close to the wall, and succeeded slipping himself in the second spot to finish the race second. That was worth him a place in the A-Main.

The A-Main was very fast with only a yellow flag and practically not much passing. Alain Bergeron that started 22nd, finished in 21st position. The Saint-Pie QC driver opened several eyes at Tampa FL with his performance in the B-Main while he showed all his talent.

Jan 25, 2007... East Bay Raceway Park...

TAMPA, Florida -- It was the first evening at East Bay Raceway Park in Florida and Alain Bergeron had the fifth place on the starting grid of the fifth heat of the night. Alain Bergeron finished fifth in that heat.

A points system is used to qualify for the big event Saturday night. The drivers that collects the more passing positions during the races have more chances for Saturday.

Bergeron had therefore to go through one of the B-Main. Unfortunately, he finished in seventh place and his day was finished. Tomorrow evening will be the second slice of these WinterNationals at Tampa.
