2006 ESS Champion. Alain Bergeron...
Oct 9, 2006 .... Another top 3 to complete a great season...
Last Saturday, at Rolling Wheels Raceway at Elbridge NY, took place the Sprint Car Challenge, the last race of the ESS 2006 season for Alain Bergeron and his team. The Saint Pie QC native, who is the 2006 American and Canadian champion of the series 'Empire Super Sprints', continued its very good work by obtaining another podium, ending third in the A-Main.
More than 69 drivers from ESS, Patriot and URC series were present and several big names were unable to qualify themselves for the feature A-Main and fortunately the drawing have given a small help to Bergeron. Second on the starting grid during its heat, Bergeron took the lead at the start of the race and won it, giving him a spot on the A-Main. This win in the heat race also gave to Bergeron a place in the 'Cash for Dash' race. Fifth at the start, it is in fourth place at the checkered.
In the A-Main, Alain Bergeron was fifth on the starting grid and at the green flag, Bergeron was fourth and was second at a certain point of the race. Bergeron had to use a lot of dexterity when another car made contact with the 8B car and the front of the sprint lifted up of more than 2 feet. Curt Michael took advantage of that incident to take the second position from Bergeron who ended up in third to close an extraordinary season.
Oct 4, 2006 .... Rolling Wheels this weekend...
Saturday, October 4, is the last race on the 2006 'Empire Super Sprints' schedule of the season. The new 2006 ESS Champion, Alain Bergeron and his team will be there . That race will be a show up points race as the drivers of URC and Patriot series will participate to the event.
Sept 27, 2006 .... Weekend off...
Alain Bergeron and his team have a break this weekend. The next and last race of the 2006 season for the ESS serie's drivers will be Saturday October 7th at Rolling Wheels, Elbridge NY.
That race will be a show up points race as the drivers of URC and Patriot series will participate to the event.
Sept 23, 2006 .... Alain Bergeron - 2006 ESS CHAMPION...
The race which had to take place this evening (Saturday) at Frogtown Speedway at Hogansburg NY have been cancelled due to rainfall. Given that the only remaining race (Saturday, October 7th at Rolling Wheels NY) on the schedule is not ESS championship point race, Alain Bergeron is confirmed as the ESS 2006 champion. The driver of Saint Pie QC had also won the Canadian slice of the championship, the 'Spectro Canadian Challenge'.
An impressive record of 7 top 3, 11 top 5 and 19 top 10 have been allowed Bergeron to become the first Canadian driver to win the ESS series championship. Another fact is that Alain Bergeron qualified himself directly for all the 2006 A-Main races without having to pass by a single B-Main race.
More details to come...
Sept 21, 2006 .... Frogtown Speedway this weekend...
The next race for Alain Bergeron and his team is this weekend, Saturday 23th, at Frogtown Speedway, Hogansburg NY. Still two races remaining at the 2006 ESS schedule and the points standing is still very close with the Saint-Pie QC driver leading the points but nothing is done yet. Still a lot of work to do.
Sept 17, 2006 .... Bad luck in the A-Main at the Canadian Sprint Nationals...
Yesterday evening (Saturday) it was the 'Canadian Sprint Car Nationals' at Ohsweken Speedway Ontario. Alain Bergeron had started the evening very well, but regrettably during the A-Main, a contact with the wall, at the middle of the race, result as Alain Bergeron's sprint pass over the wall between turn one and two. The damages on the car were on the front axle, front wheels and the wings. The most important is that the driver is Ok.
The evening had very well started with the best 13th time trial on 70 present drivers. Third on the starting grid for his heat, Bergeron won it. That heat race includes very good drivers as Dale Blaney. Starting first for the DASH, everything was going well until all the break system stop working at the middle of the race but the Saint-Pie driver worked hard and did the last 4 laps without brakes and take away the win of the DASH.
First on the grid of the A-Main, Bergeron led the first seven laps when the brake problems reappeared, what made lose positions to the driver, then happened the contact with the wall at the mid-race which ended Alain Bergeron's evening and his beautiful performance of the beginning of the night.
Sept 14, 2006 .... Canadian Sprint Car Nationals this weekend...
This weekend (saturday), it's the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals at Ohsweken Speedway in Ontario and Alain Bergeron and his team will be there. Last year, Bergeron had the 13th best time trial on the 71 drivers. The Saint-Pie QC had qualified for the A-Main and finished 22th in that race.
Sept 10, 2006 .... Great performance at the Bully Hill Sprint Nationals...
Yesterday evening (Saturday) it was the popular and very competitive 'Bully Hill Vineyards Fall 360 Sprint Nationals' at Black Rock Speedway, Dundee NY and Alain Bergeron did great with the best Timed Trial and a second place finish in the A-Main. If it was not for the right rear tire that worn out and no traction, Bergeron would have catch up the win. This annual race grouped together 66 of the best drivers of Sprints 360 of the Northeast. ESS, URC and Patriot associations among others were represented.
Only 28 cars had a place in the A-Main. The starting positions for the heats were the 30 best times inverted. Alain Bergeron opened wide the eyes of many people by realizing the best time trial in front of 65 other drivers. According to the system of the inverted positions, the driver of Saint Pie was sixth on the starting grid of his heat race and only the first four ones passed directly to the A-Main. Bergeron took advantage of the problem of the leader to end in fourth position in his heat race to pass directly to the A-Main.
The evening took place perfectly. Thanks to his time trial and his performance in qualification, Alain Bergeron was second on the starting grid of the A-Main. On the eighth lap, Bergeron met himself in the third place when the leader had a suspension problem. Bergeron was than second behind the well known Curt Michael. On the fifteenth lap, taking advantage of lap cars, Alain Bergeron passed Michael to lead the race brilliantly. However, with a right rear tire which worn out, the car lost traction. With two laps remaining, Curt Michael passed back Bergeron for the win. Bergeron ended second in front of another well known Trevor Lewis.
It is well done for Alain Bergeron as a second place and the best time at the 'Bully Hill' is an unhoped-for performance. Several drivers of Bergeron came to congratulate him on its exploit and it confirmed Alain Bergeron as one of the best Sprint Car drivers.
Sept 6, 2006 .... The Bully Hill Sprint Nationals this weekend...
This Weekend it is the popular 'Bully Hill Vineyards Fall 360 Sprint Nationals' and Alain Bergeron will be there. This annual race which brings around 70 Sprints of the associations ESS, URC and Patriot is very appreciated. Only 28 cars will be qualified for the A-Main. Thus just the fact to qualifying for the A-Main is already a very good performance. Given that this race groups together several associations, the ESS drivers will be credited with all the same number of points for the championship.
Last year, Alain Bergeron had success with the 8th time trials on 65 drivers. Qualified for the A-Main, the Saint-Pie driver started 22nd to finish in 12th for that race.
Let us remind that Alain Bergeron is, in theory, Champion of the Canadian part, the 'Spectro Oil Challenge' of the ESS series. A Canadian race remains to be completed by the end of the season, the 'Canadian Sprint Car Nationals' and as this race will also include several associations, all the drivers will receive the same points.
As for the ESS series standing, after last Sunday race at Utica-Rome, Alain Bergeron is in first place with a race, counting for full points, remaining until the end of the season. On the other hand, a lot of work waits the team and for the driver because the standing is very tight as only 4 points separate the first of the second place.
Sept 4, 2006 .... Third place at Utica-Rome...
Another very good performance for Alain Bergeron yesterday evening (Sunday) at Vernon NY, at Utica-Rome Speedway as the Saint Pie QC driver completed the A-Main in third place. Fourth on the starting grid with a rough track and a damaged nose wing, Bergeron worked very hard to keep the pace and he crossed the checkered flag in third.
Alain Bergeron had qualified for the A-Main by ending fourth in his heat while he was sixth on the starting grid.
The Sprint Car race ended after 1 AM in the morning because the race program had been delayed because of the rain.
Sept 3, 2006 .... Autodrome Drummond...
After a very good performance Friday night at Autodrome Granby, Alain Bergeron and his team were at Autodrome Drummond yesterday evening (Saturday). This race was very important because the points standing for the Canadian slice (Spectro Canadian Challenge) was to be decided by that race, Alain Bergeron being on top but the standing was very tight.
The evening began very well for Alain Bergeron with a third place in his heat while he had started in seventh row on grid. This result qualified him directly in A-Main. Thirteenth on the starting grid of the A-Main, the Saint Pie driver had to finish in the top 10 to keep his chances in that Canadian point standing.
Bergeron had a good race start being in seventh in the mid-race but as the track conditions changed, Bergeron lost some ground to finally end in ninth. This result should confirm Alain Bergeron at the top of the Spectro Canadian Challenge.
Tonight (Sunday), ESS drivers and Alain Bergeron will be at Utica-Rome Speedway, Vernon NY.
Sept 2, 2006 .... Autodrome Granby...
Yesterday night (Friday), it was the first of 3 races in 3 nights this weekend for Alain Bergeron and the ESS drivers. Because of the handicap system, Bergeron was starting in the middle of the pack (14th) and at the start of the race he started making his way to the front to finish the race in 4th.
Alain Bergeron was qualified for the A-Main finishing 4th in his heat while he started 7th.
August 30, 2006 .... Very important weekend to come...
This coming weekend will be very important for Alain Bergeron and all the drivers of the 'Empire Super Sprints' series because they will have to face 3 races in 3 days, among which two in Quebec and one in New York state.
First of all, on Friday September 1st, all will meet at Autodrome Granby QC, while the next day, Autodrome Drummond QC will receive Bergeron and the ESS series. Immediately after the Drummondville event, everyone will be heading to Vernon NY because on Sunday September 3rd, ESS Sprint Cars will be at Utica-Rome Speedway.
After those 3 races, there will be only one single race counting for full points for the 2006 championship of the series, that is September 23rd at Frogtown Speedway NY. Three other races will stay on the calendar but these 3 races will be 'challenges' with other Sprint Car series.
Let us remind that Alain Bergeron is at present time in second place in the ESS series championship with only 27 points behind the leader.
August 27, 2006 .... Heartbreaking race at Canandaigua...
The evening announced very very well for Alain Bergeron at Canandaigua yesterday night. In his heat race, he was starting eighth and the Saint Pie QC driver finished in fourth place to qualify directly to the A-Main.
In the A-Main, Alain Bergeron was 14th on the starting grid and he was continuing his excellent work as he was making his way to the top. On lap 19, he was in 4th place. Than a yellow flag arose but what a break as another car comes into Bergeron 8B Sprint during the yellow, causing a flat tire. Alain Bergeron was not able to return on time on the track after the repair. So it is in 14th place that Bergeron ended this A-Main.
It is a heartbreaking race for Team Bergeron, but knowing Alain Bergeron, he will return stronger for the next weekend while the ESS will be in Quebec Friday and Saturday.
August 23, 2006 .... Canandaigua this weekend...
Alain Bergeron and the ESS drivers are going back to action this weekend with a race Saturday, August 26 at Canandaigua in New York state.
That race is the one that was rainout on July 22.
Following the good results of the last weekend, Alain Bergeron is leading the ESS points standing and of the Canadian series. However, a lot of work still waiting Alain Bergeron and his team as the competition is very strong and the points standing are very close.
August 20, 2006 .... Second place at Brockville…
After a very good fourth place finish the day before at Autodrome Edelweiss, Alain Bergeron, again had to deal with a 'not easy' starting position at Brockville, yesterday evening and he managed very well, for once again, finish in the top 5 ending in second place in the A-Main race.
Bergeron had qualified for the A-Main finishing fourth in his heat while he was seventh on the starting grid. Based on the handicap system of the series, the Saint Pie driver was fifteenth on the starting grid for this A-Main. On lap 7, he was in seventh position and he continued his way to the top and he was third when on lap 19 a yellow flag arose. On the restart, Bergeron took the second position but finally missed time to catch the leader.
The next race of the series will be Saturday, August 26th, at Canandaigua NY.
August 19, 2006 .... Fourth place at Autodrome Edelweiss…
Alain Bergeron and the ESS drivers were back, yesterday night, on the race track after a two weeks break for the Knoxville Nationals in Iowa. Everyone were at Edelweiss Speedway in the Gatineau region. Than, Alain Bergeron continued his good work as he managed his race on a very well way and he worked very hard to gain one position at a time to finish the race in fourth place in the A-Main race.
Fourteenth on the starting grid, Bergeron was in ninth place on the sixth lap and he continued his way to the top for the fourth position finish.
In his heat race, Alain Bergeron was starting seventh and was able to gain two positions to finish the race in fifth and qualify itself for the A-Main.
This evening, Saturday, the drivers of the series ESS and Alain Bergeron are gathering in Brockville, ON for the second race of the weekend.
August 10, 2006 .... Autodrome Edelweiss and Brockville, the next steps for Alain Bergeron…
It's off this weekend for Alain Bergeron. As every year, ESS activities take a break in the first two weeks of August for the Knoxville Nationals in Iowa.
Action will be back for all the ESS drivers with two races in two days in Canada, Friday August 18, at Autodrome Edelweiss in the Gatineau region and the day after, Saturday August 19, everyone will head up to Brockville ON for a first visit there in 2006. The race that was supposed to be held June 3 had been rain out earlier this season.
Alain Bergeron is now third in the general standing of the series and everything have to be done as the competition is so close. Bergeron is at 4 points from the second place and 25 points to the leader. The competition is as hard also behind Bergeron as the 10th place driver is at 192 points from the leader.
For the Canadian section of the series, the 'Spectro Canadian Challenge', Alain Bergeron is second at only one point to the leader.
August 3, 2006 .... Weekend off…
Alain Bergeron and his team are off this weekend. It's the break for Knoxville Nationals.
July 30 2006 .... Autodrome Drummond…
Alain Bergeron and the drivers of the ESS series completed their weekend of 3 races in 3 days at Autodrome Drummond yesterday night, saturday July 29. From the begining the track was very dry, so the work was to be hard. Because of the handicap system, the Saint-Pie driver was 15th on the starting grid of the A-Main. Being patient and using every room available on the track Alain Bergeron make his way up to the front and avoided the problems to finish in 7th.
In his heat race, Bergeron was 6th on the grid and with an excellent start and a good race he finished third that qualified him for the A-Main.
July 29 2006 .... Solid performance at Granby…
Solid performance yesterday night at Granby for Alain Bergeron with a third place finish in the A-Main. 12th on the starting grid, the Saint-Pie driver lost some positions at the start but we had to count on his determination to making his way up to the front and finally finish third. Unfortunetly Bergeron got out of time to be able to catch the first two cars.
Bergeron showed his great driving skill as on the first lap he had to avoid a big wreck just in front of him.
Bergeron qualified for the A-Main finishing third in his heat. He started sixth. That third place is his best result at Granby.
July 27 2006 .... Second at Can-Am for Alain Bergeron…
Good night of work for Alain Bergeron as after winning his heat, he was starting seventh to finish second in the A-Main tonight at Can-Am, despite vibration on the car. The Saint-Pie driver started fourth in his heat.
In the DASH race, sixth on the grid, Bergeron finished sixth.
July 25 2006 .... 3 races this weekend with 2 in Quebec…
Another big weekend waits Alain Bergeron as Thursday, July 27, the ESS series will be at Lafargeville NY at Can-Am Speedway. Than, everyone will be in Québec for a complete program at Autodrome Granby the day after, as Friday July 28, while Saturday July 29, Autodrome Drummond will host another program for the drivers of the series.
That weekend will precede the two weeks break for the ESS to respect the Knoxville championship.
July 23, 2006 .... Utica-Rome Speedway…
Alain Bergeron and the drivers of the ESS series were, tonight, at Utica-Rome Speedway NY for the event that was postponed July 2. Despite a hard track surface, the Saint-Pie driver finished in 8th in the A-Main. 9th on the grid, Alain Bergeron had a bad start and ended up in 13th place but was able to complete the race in 8th position.
Fifth on the starting grid of his heat, Bergeron finished fifth to qualify for the A-Main.
July 22, 2006 .... Canandaigua rainout…
The race that was supposed to be held tonight at Canandaigua had been rainout. Next race is tomorrow at Utica-Rome Speedway.
July 19, 2006 .... Two races this weekend for Alain Bergeron…
Next weekend will be almost as busy as last week as Alain Bergeron and the drivers of ESS series will be back, after four years, at Canandaigua Speedway NY Saturday July 22. The day after, Sunday July 23, everyone will be at Vernon NY at Utica-Rome Speedway to rerun the July 2 event that was rainout.
July 16, 2006 .... Cornwall Motor Speedway...
Once again, Alain Bergeron was forced to restart from the back to manage his way up front. Started 12th on the A-Main, Bergeron had to stop on the track to avoid a big accident. Unfortunatly, he had to restart from the back and finish 12th. Not that bad in that situation. Fior his heat race, he started 7th and finished 4th.
July 16, 2006 .... Frogtown Speedway...
Despite a flat tire in A-Main, Alain Bergeron managed to work his way to the front to finish in 11th the A-Main yesterday night at Frogtown Speedway NY. Started 7th in his heat, Saint-Pie's driver passed the checkered in 3rd to qualify for the A-Main. 13th on the starting grid for the A-Main, Bergeron was doing well but a flat tire forced him to visit the pits.
His team did a great job allowing him to come back on the track without loosing a lap. At the restart, Bergeron had to start from the back and work as hard as he can and pass his oponents to finish in 11th. It seems that Bergeron broke the track record.
Next race, tonight at Cornall Motor Speedway in Ontario.
July 15, 2006 .... Edelweiss...
Fifth place for Alain Bergeron last night at Edelweiss Speedway in Gatineau region. 12th on the starting grid, Bergeron worked his way to the top to finish 5th in the A-Main. Saint-Pie's driver was qualified for the A-Main finishing in 4th in his heat while he started 6th.
July 13, 2006 .... Busy Weekend for Alain Bergeron...
It will be a busy weekend for Alain Bergeron and all the drivers of the 'Empire Super Sprints' because there will be 3 races in three evenings. On Friday, July 14th, the Saint-Pie driver and the ESS series will be at Edelweiss Speedway in the Gatineau region. The next day, all will belong to Hogansburg NY at Frogtown International Speedway and on Sunday, July 16th, it will be Cornwall Motor Speedway in Ontario that will welcome the ESS series.
Alain Bergeron is in the third place in the series points standing but the competition is very close as only 13 points separating the third of the eighth position.
July 6 2006 .... It's off this weekend for Alain Bergeron...
It's of this weekend for Alain Bergeron and for the 'Empire Super Sprints' drivers. After the race presented last Saturday at Can-Am, Lafargeville NY, Alain Bergeron is now in third place of the series Points Championship. But the next races to come will not be easy as only 13 points separate the third and the eighth position in the standings. The competition is very tight and every finishing position in the races is important.
In the Canadian championship series, the driver of Saint Pie is also in third while in the DASH series, Bergeron is in second.
That break will be well deserved for all the drivers because during the weekend of July 14th, 15th and 16th, there will be three races in three days. On Friday, July 14th, Alain Bergeron and the ESS series will be at Edelweiss in the Gatineau region. The next day, everyone will be at Frogtown Speedway NY and on Sunday, Cornwall Motor Speedway in Ontario will host the third race of the weekend.

July 2, 2006 .... 10th at Can-Am Speedway…
No matter the fact that he had to restart from the back of the pack twice, Alain Bergeron has never abandoned to finished in 10th yesterday evening (Saturday) during the A-Main race presented at Can-Am Speedway, Lafargeville, NY. 10th on the starting grid, the driver of Saint Pie QC went out of the track on lap one.
After the restart, while he went back up front, an accident happened in front of him and he was not being able to avoid it. He than have to restart again from the back with some damages to his Sprint Car frame. Bergeron never abandons and he began again to win positions to finished in 10th place. Good result given circumstances.
Alain Bergeron had qualified himself for A-Main by winning his heat race while he was starting 4th. And for the DASH race, a bad start had cost him several positions and he ended up 3rd. The next race will be this evening (Sunday) at Utica-Rome Speedway, Vernon NY.
June 28, 2006 .... A night almost perfect ...
Alain Bergeron and the drivers of the ESS series were at Albany-Saratoga Speedway yesterday evening, Tuesday on June 27th, for a special evening and Sprint Cars were the main attraction.
It came very close to have the driver of Saint Pie QC having a perfect night. Indeed, Bergeron won his heat race, the DASH race and finished second in the A-Main. During the last lap of that A-Main race, Bergeron came twice as high as the leader, but the time missed. Tenth on the starting grid, Alain Bergeron gained one position at the time and meet himself at the end of the race among the leaders and passed the checkered in second.
At the beginning of the evening, Bergeron had qualified himself for A-Main by winning its heat while he started in fifth place.
The next races will be on Saturday evening at Can-Am Speedway, Lafargeville NY and Sunday at Utica-Rome Speedway, Vernon NY.
June 25, 2006 .... Two top 10 for Alain Bergeron in Ontario...
Alain Bergeron and the drivers of ESS series were in the South-West Ontario. A long trip for the team and for Bergeron, despite unfavorable starting positions, he worked hard to collect two Top 10 during these two races.
Friday evening at Ohsweken Speedway ON, Alain Bergeron was ninth on the starting grid. At the start of the race, he drop to 12th but went back to end the race in seventh place. During the last laps, Bergeron had to fight with a problem of visor on his helmet which result in a visibility considerably reduced. Alain Bergeron had qualified himself for the A-Main by ending in third during his heat while he had started fifth.
The next day, Saturday, it was a first visit at South Buxton, near Windsor ON. A track with an unusual configuration and a very difficult surface giving many headaches to the drivers during the heats. Alain Bergeron was sixth on the starting grid for his heat and he ended in fifth to qualify itself for the A-Main. With the handicap system, Bergeron was thirteenth on the starting grid of the A-Main, avoiding the pitfalls to pass under the checkered in tenth place. More than 6 drivers had heavy damages to their car cause by accidents.
Exceptionally, Alain Bergeron and the ESS drivers will be at Albany-Saratoga Speedway, Malta NY, on Tuesday June 27th for a special event during which Sprint Car will be the main attraction.
June 21, 2006 .... Alain Bergeron and ESS in Ontario ...
Another busy weekend waits Alain Bergeron with two races in two days, Friday June 23rd he will be at Ohsweken Speedway ON in the Niagara Falls region. This track is very fast and we expect a big number of Sprint Car. Let us remind that last year, Alain Bergeron had finished in the second place in A-Main being passed by Dan Kaszubinski in the final turn in the race.
On the other hand this second place meant enormously for the Saint Pie driver and his team because one week before, he had been victim of the terrible accident which everybody remembers that happened at Drummondville. In 2004, at Ohsweken Speedway, Bergeron had ended 12th while he had started in last place because of a problem in the first qualification.
The next day, Saturday 24th, the drivers of the series will move to South Boxton Raceway at Merlin ON. It will be a first visit at this track for Alain Bergeron and for the other regular drivers of the series.
June 19, 2006 .... Cornwall Motor Speedway ...
Alain Bergeron had, once again, yesterday evening (Sunday), to work very hard to go back from the back of the pack to the top. When you start 18th on the starting grid at a small track as Cornwall, you have to go fast from the beginning of the race to avoid being lapped by the leaders. And that's what Bergeron made; he went with all his energy to earn one spot at the time to finish ninth in the A-Main. He was moreover one of the fastest on the track.
The track quickly changed at the beginning of the evening, being very sticky for the first two heats to become very dry during the third heat. It's what trapped the Saint-Pie driver. Seventh on the grid of his heat, he ended in the sixth place for the 18th spot at the start of the A-Main.
A top 10 when you start from the back at Cornwall is always good to take.
June 18, 2006 .... Drummond ...
Yesterday evening (Saturday), everyone was at Autodrome Drummond for the second race of the weekend. The evening began pretty well while third on the starting grid for his heat race, Alain Bergeron got the win. This result gave him a spot in the DASH race. The win was not without problem because a rock pierced the radiator and the team had to make quick to repair in time for the DASH race. Started third, he ended third.
Finally for the A-Main, the drivers made a great show with a lot of passing. Alain Bergeron was 9th on the starting grid, and at the 12th lap Bergeron was 6th and it is finally in 4th place that the Quebec driver passed the checkered flag.
This evening (Sunday), Alain Bergeron and the ESS will complete the weekend with the race program at Cornwall ON.
June 17, 2006 .... Granby ...
9th place in A-Main for Alain Bergeron. Bergeron qualified for the A-Main when he finished 6th in his heat.
Alain Bergeron will be at Auatodrome Drummond tonight.
June 14, 2006 .... 3 races in 3 nights ...
That will be a very busy weekend for Alain Bergeron and the ESS drivers as they have 3 races in 3 nights. Friday night, June 16, 'Empire Super Sprints' series will be at Autodrome Granby while Saturday night, Alain Bergeron and his team will be at Autodrome Drummond QC.
Finally, Sunday night, Cornwall Motor Speedway ON will host the series.
Alain Bergeron hopes that the badluck will stay away from him for that important weekend.
June 11, 2006 .... Little Valley ...
It is a race to forget. Damage to the car but no injuries for the driver.
Alain Bergeron finished 6th in his heat to qualify 18th for the A-Main, but he had to start from the back because he switched car for the A-Main. It was going well as he was 11th when another car went into him and Bergeron hit the wall. His night was done and he was classified 19th for that A-Main.
Next weekend Alain Bergeron will have 3 races in 3 nights with Friday June 16th at Autodrome Granby QC, Saturday June 17th at Autodrome Drummond QC and Sunday June 18 at Cornwall Motor Speedway ON.
June 3, 2006 .... Rain ...
The race that was supposed to be held tonight at Brockville Speedway ON is cancelled due to rain. In 2006, 3 races of 6 had been cancelled due to bad weather.
Next race will be at Little Valley NY
May 31, 2006 .... First race of the season in Canada ...
Alain Bergeron and the drivers of the 'Empire Super Sprints' series will be at Brockville ON next Saturday, June 3rd, for the first Canadian race of the 2006 season. That race is also the first race of the 'Spectro Oil Canadian Invasion' series.
In 2005, at the two races held at Brockville, Alain Bergeron finished fifth twice.
May 29, 2006 .... Third place at Utica-Rome Speedway...
Alain Bergeron finished third in the A-Main event at Utica-Rome Speedway yesterday night. He had won his heat race to qualify for the main event.
Everything started great but a problem with the two wings had the car to be really hard to handle and when Bergeron arrived to pass the lap cars , he had to be cautious and that when got passed to finished third.
May 28, 2006 .... Can-Am...
Alain Bergeron did not have any chance last night at Can-Am Speedway, Lafargeville NY. 10th on the starting grid for the A-Main, everything was fine because on the 12th lap, Bergeron was second and was chasing the leader, Jessica Zemken. The bad luck happened at the 20th lap when the Saint-Pie driver went out of fuel. Bergeron was not the only one in that situation. Several laps on the yellow flag at the begining of the race screwed up the plans of several drivers. Even the winner, Jessica Zemken, started to be out of fuel at the end of the race.
It's in 19th place that Alain Bergeron finished that A-Main. Completing his heat race in third gave Bergeron his place in the A-Main, after he started fifth on the grid. Once again, the competition was heavy as 11 drivers were not able to qualify for the A-Main.
Tonight, everyone are going to Vernon NY at Utica-Rome Speedway...

These three races will be the third, fourth and fifth of the 2006 season. At the first race of the season, Alain Bergeron finished 22nd at Fulton Speedway, while the second race that was supposed to be at Albany-Saratoga Speedway Malta NY had been cancelled because of rain.
May 21, 2006 .... Visit at Canandaigua Speedway NY ...

The driver of Saint-Pie QC started sixth and finished fifth in his heat to qualify for the A-Main. 14th on the starting grid, Bergeron completed the race on 14th place.
Next weekend will be a busy one while Alain Bergeron and the ESS drivers will have 3 races in 3 days as Brewerton, Can-Am Speedway and Utica-Rome Speedway.

Alain Bergeron was there and from the beginning of the night everyone knew that the competition should be very hard because more than 44 drivers were presents trying to qualify for the 26 available places on the A-Main starting grid.
Alain Bergeron qualified for the A-Main and finished in 22th place for that first race of the season. In his heat, the Saint-Pie driver was in seventh place on the grid and he finished fourth, that allowed him to qualify for the A-Main. It gave him the 14th place on the A-Main starting grid. Mention that star drivers of Patriot and URC series were there as Dave Ely and Curt Michael.
The 2006 season is now started and the next race of the ESS series will be next weekend at Albany-Saratoga Speedway, Malta NY.

The 2006 season of the ESS series will count more than 33 races from May till October in the Northeast of the United States and in Canada. The competition will be even stronger this year than it was it in 2005 because besides the regular drivers who had made the series in 2005, several other drivers were added to the list. The drivers of the series will make among others, three visits to Drummondville and Granby, as well as visits to Cornwall, Gatineau and Brockville ON.
Let us remind that, in 2005, despite a terrible accident which had destroyed his car at Drummondville, the driver of St-Pie had been able to have a strong end of season, finishing in fifth place in the series standing and took away the championship of the 'Gator Racing News Lap Leader Award'.
It will be a long and exciting season which begins this week for Alain Bergeron team and the fans are invited to follow the results and performances of the team by the team Web site and over the various daily newspapers and from the specialized racing magazines.
