It's in eleventh position that Alain Bergeron ended in the A-Main event yesterday night at Cornwall Motor Speedway ON. Bergeron qualified himself for A-Main by ending fifth during his heat race. He started in eleventh place in this main event. The evening would have been worst because the driver of Saint Pie QC just avoided a collision while two cars turned on track hardly in front of him. On the other hand, the little contact made that the right bumper came to stick on the right rear tire causing the tire to wore out in a dangerous way. Fortunately, Alain Bergeron was able to stay on the track and to end the race without too many damages.

August 21, 2004 .... Autodrome Edelweiss ...

The evening had begun pretty well for Alain Bergeron, yesterday night at Autodrome Edelweiss (Cantley QC), with a second place finish in his heat race, that allowed him to be qualified for A-Main and to participate in the DASH race. Bergeron was fourth on the grid for that heat race. However, a bad choice of tires in the A-Main had a little compromised his chances for the win. It's finally in the ninth place that the Sprint 8b completed the race, won by the young Nick Fratto.

Earlier in the DASH, Alain Bergeron started sixth and finished third, that allows him to stay on the lead of the DASH standing. For the A-Main, it's from the twelfth place that the driver of St-Pie took the green flag. Despite all the problems, he crossed the checkered in ninth. Alain Bergeron was one of the fastest during times trials and that gave him the second place on the starting grid of his heat. And he won that heat race. Nevertheless, during the practice sessions, the handling of the car was far from satisfying the driver. The right setups were thus found and this performance had been worth the seventh row for the start of the A-Main race. But the track conditions changed quickly during the race and the handling of the car was greatly affected. It's in fourteenth position that Alain Bergeron finished the race. ' I had to fight, with the track and the car all throughout the A-Main, what made us lose some positions. However we are satisfied because already to qualify itself was a lot of work. ' To say the driver of Saint Pie, QC.

Messier is a NHL player with the Florida Panthers. Team Bergeron moreover wishes to congratulate all the organization of the Golf tournament as well as Eric Messier for the success of the event which will have allowed to amass more than $24000 for the Children's Wish Foundation . July 11, 2004 .... Good news ! ...

For different reasons, the race that was supposed to take place this past weekend at Thunder Mountain Speedway NY was cancelled by ESS. During this time, everything was made, by Team Bergeron to have the engine ready in time. All the team is ready to go racing and is waiting for the engine because this one should be ready for Wednesday. It is a crucial weekend because four race are scheduled. Thursday, ESS drivers will be at Evans Mills Speedway NY, on Friday it's at Edelweiss Speedway in the Gatineau region, while on Saturday, it is at Frogtown Speedway NY to end the weekend on Sunday at Cornwall ON.

Having been absent in the last two races, Alain Bergeron lost some ground in the ESS standing, by sliding from the fifth place to the eleventh position. On the other hand if everything goes into the order, the objective is to take back these positions one to one.

July 4, 2004 .... Mecanical problems continue, the season can be compromised ...

After last week bad luck, all the hopes were allowed yesterday (Saturday) especially that Alain Bergeron had always made well at Can-Am Speedway at Lafargeville NY. The night begun as Alain Bergeron was not able to participate at the practices session, after having detected a small noise in the engine, the setup were made and the car was ready for the heat.

Sixth on the starting grid of his heat, Alain Bergeron had a great start because he was on the lead after the first lap. But after three laps a vibration appeared and as a safety precaution, the Sprint is returned into the pits area. The verdict is that the engine must be rebuild because damages to the ' cam ' and valves. The team came back to Quebec and will not participate in today (Sunday) event at Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon NY. Alain Bergeron thus is waiting to know which would cost him to rebuild the engine. Unless an additional financial support, the 2004 season of Team Bergeron could be compromised. " It is disappointing certainly, especially that we were fifth in the points standing, but that is part of racing. It's mecanic and after some time, some parts have to be replaced.", to declare Alain Bergeron.

Meanwhile, Alain Bergeron is searching for a ride to be able to continue the season in case the Sprint could not be back on track.

July 1, 2004 .... Team Bergeron on the road again ...

Alain Bergeron and his team are going on the road again this weekend for two races, on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday evening, ESS series drivers and Alain Bergeron will be atCan-Am, Lafargeville NY, while the next day, on Sunday, everybody will meet themselves at Vernon NY, at Utica-Rome Speedway. Following the accident of the last weekend at Osheweken Speedway, the team had spent the week to rebuild the Sprint Car to make sure that everything will be ready for Saturday race. The events of the last week would have had a much more negative impact on the position in the series points standing, but the determination of Alain Bergeron to rebuilt the car in time and to race hard, allowing him to finish in twelfth and eighth places, despite a car in bad condition, allowed the Saint Pie driver to keep the fifth position in the ESS standing. Alain Bergeron is also in the lead of the DASH races standing and in second for Canadian Challenge.

June 28, 2004 .... Weekend filled with action ...

The weekend had begun very badly, on Friday evening at Ohsweken Speedway in Ontario. After the win at Drummondville, Alain Bergeron was one of the favorites driver for theses two days in Ontario. He was fifth during his heat, but on the second lap, 41m car broke its engine and slides towards the outside of the track on the 8b car. Alain Bergeron cannot avoid it and made two flips. Helped, among others, by two members of Glenn Styres team, Team Bergeron began to repair the car to participate in B-Main. The damages were considerable. Both wings were damaged, the majority of the suspension arms were broken, flats tires, support of engine, shock absorbers, damages to the frame, the front axle, the list was long. As it was impossible to be ready, Alain Bergeron decides to take his spare car in B-Main. On the second lap, the engine blew up. Far from giving up, Alain Bergeron decided to do everything to repair the first car and to participate in A-Main by using his ' provisional '.

The impossible happened while the last repairs were completed at the same moment than the other cars were already on track. With very few setup and knowing nothing about the performance of the car, Alain Bergeron toke the start from the back of the pack in the 24th place. Alain Bergeron did not waste any time and began to attack by using the high groove of the track in turns 3 and 4. One in one, the Saint Pie driver gained positions. At the end of the A-Main, he finally finished twelfth, in the tail of four Sprints. That was satisfying considering the start of the night, even that, a shock absorber had broken loose and that the other one was jammed.

The next day, at Merrittville Speedway, everyone there spoke only about Alain Bergeron's performance. With some improvements on the setup, but with still a frame in poor shape, problems in the front axle and some little things to be settled on the racing car, Alain Bergeron starts again where he had left. He ends in the fifth place during the qualification and completed the A-Main in eighth position, while he was thirteenth on the starting grid. After the racing program, the fans came in big number to bring their support to Bergeron. It was not that bad as result considering the events. So, it was a very busy weekend, for Alain Bergeron and the week to come will not be surely either for the team, because a lot of work has to be done on the car to have it ready for next race, Saturday at Can-Am.

June 23, 2004 .... This Weekend...

It's time for Team Bergeron to think about next weekend. Just after celebrations following last Saturday win, Team Bergeron had to go back to work to prepare the Sprint Car for weekend to come. Friday, June 25, ESS series and Alain Bergeron are going to Ohsweken Speedway in Ontario. Saturday, everyone will be at Merrittville Speedway, near Niagara Falls.

After his win, Alain Bergeron is now in fifth place in the ESS series points standing. Before last weekend, he was in 12th place. That show the level of competition of the ESS series.

June 20, 2004 .... WIN !!!...

Great win yesterday night at Autodrome Drummond of Drummondville for Team Bergeron. The stands were packed and everyone cheered when the local driver got the win. Sixth on the starting grid, on the second lap Alain Bergeron took the fourth place. Being one of the only driver to use the high groove of the track in the turn one and two, Saint Pie's driver could so get closer to the leaders. On the third lap, Bergeron made another victim and he collected the third position behind Billy Krull and Mike Stelter. The fans in the stands were wondering if they would saw the 2001 scenario. On the eleventh lap, Bergeron took the second place, again by using the high groove of the track in the turns one and two. He was to be caution to not slide outside the track in turn two, as the track was very dry.

Bergeron had one thing in mind, the win. On the 23rd lap, the leader until now, Billy Krull, lost the control of his Sprint, made some flips and than the officials put the red flag. It was the euphoria in the stands. However, it was not finished yet because behind the 8B car was Bobby Podolak, that one who passed Alain Bergeron in the last laps of the first heat to finish second, and Podolak had a good evening. So, everything was not done. In a masterly fashion, Alain Bergeron flew away on the lead, leaving his opponents behind to take away the win, his fifth in Sprint Car career with the 'Empire Super Sprints '.

June 19, 2004 .... Granby...

Another win in heat and a seventh place in A-Main yesterday night at Autodrome Granby. Starting second on the grid in his heat, Alain Bergeron took the lead on the first lap to never give up that position and so to win another heat race. During a restart on fifth lap, he had to resist to Donny Sharp jr. This win gave him the fifth row on the starting grid of the A-Main event and after 25 laps and some yellow flags, Alain Bergeron passed under the checkered flag in seventh place. 'We are happy of this result if we consider that we don't had a lot of success at Granby in the past years. But it is sure that we would have liked finish more on top.' To conclude the driver. Tonight (Saturday), all the drivers of the ESS series are at Drummondville. Details to come...

June 16, 2004 .... Team Bergeron in his backyard...

'Since the beginning of the season, our car was always one of the fastest on the circuit. However the luck was not on our side. People from Quebec come in big number and we shall make sure to offer them the best performance we can.', said Alain Bergeron.

June 14, 2004 .... Weekend news...

Friday evening at Little Valley NY, it was not the best evening for Team Bergeron. With a very dry track, the car had no grip and Alain Bergeron ended seventh in his heat. In the A-Main event, same track conditions and it is in eighteenth place that Alain Bergeron finished the race. Saturday evening, Alain Bergeron decided to join the Sprint Car regular drivers at Black Rock Speedway. Everything was going well in A-Main and the native of Saint Pie QC was to make the pass to take the lead when the two Sprints got together. It was the collision and the evening was over for Team Bergeron.

Sunday night, Empire Super Sprints drivers met themselves at Cornwall Motor Speedway. The evening began in beautiful way for Alain Bergeron as he won his heat. This performance gave him his passport for the DASH race and it was close that Alain Bergeron won his fourth DASH of the season. He finished second. Everything was looking good for the A-Main with his fourth place on the starting grid. One the first lap of the race, Alain Bergeron was third and was looking for the leaders but between turns 3 and 4, the car that was inside him just touched the 8B Sprint enough to make it going sideways. Another car went to collide it. However, the car was ok and Alain Bergeron was able to restart from the back. From that point, Alain Bergeron was on a mission and the Sprint #8B began to go to the front that allowed him to finished the A-Main in the seventh place. The car was one of the fastest on the track. Next races will be in Alain Bergeron's backyard as Friday night, ESS tour will be at Autodrome Granby and on Saturday night, all the ESS drivers will be at Autodrome Drummond.

May 31, 2004 .... Utica-Rome Speedway...

Following Saturday bad luck at Can-Am in the A-Main, Team Bergeron wanted to begin the evening of a beautiful way at the Vernon NY track, yesterday night. The evening effectively began well for Alain Bergeron with a second place in its heat. Starting fourth, he found himself in second, than in fourth again and finally finish in second place. This result qualified him for the DASH race. For the third time of the season, Alain Bergeron took away with the DASH win. Moreover, he won all three DASH races of the season. The car was running pretty well and the A-Main was announcing very well. Sixth on the starting grid, after the first lap, Alain met himself in the fifth place. In the second lap, the Sprint that occupied third position turns sideways on track and five Sprints cannot avoid it, as well as Sprint 8B of Team Bergeron. With one flat in the front, a broken wheel, the brakes not working and some damage to the suspension, Alain Bergeron went into the pits and made the minimal repairs, than returned on the track with laps back. The Saint Pie's driver will complete the A-Main in fourteenth place.

'The car is running great and is very fast. We shall have to have a little less bad luck in A-Main. ', to declare Alain. . Not less than 35 Sprints filled the pits of Utica-Rome Speedway to try to qualify for the 24 available spots in the A-Main.

May 30, 2004 .... CanAm...

After very good results the day before at Brockville ON and a pretty good car, the confidence was great for the Can-Am race yesterday night (Saturday). Alain Bergeron continued his good work with another win in the DASH race. He had qualified for this DASH with a second place in his heat. He was starting fifth in his heat and had gone from the back of the pack to finish second. Everything was announcing for the best for the A-Main.

Alain Bergeron was twelve on the starting grid for the A-Main and in the first laps, the brake line broke and left the Sprint 8B without any brakes. Bergeron thus had to make the full race without brakes on the car. He also had to restart three times from the back of the pack, but his efforts allowed him to finish in sixteenth place. Put aside this braking problem the car behaved very well and was competitive. This evening (Sunday) at Utica-Rome Speedway, Vernon NY, it's the last one of a series of three race for this weekend.

May 29, 2004 .... Good Start...

Yesterday night (Friday) it was season premiere at Brockville ON for the drivers of 'Empire Super Sprints ' series and Team Bergeron began well this season. Starting in the second heat of the night, Alain Bergeron was second on the starting grid and he took the lead on the first moments of the race to win the event. This result qualified him automatically for the A-Main, but before it, he had to race in the DASH race. For this second race of the season, Alain won again. Third on the grid for the A-Main, the driver of Saint Pie QC, had to face a slick track and tough opponents. For the first half of the race, Alain lost some positions and was in sixth at mid-race but more the race was going more the racecar had more grip and got closer to the cars in front. In the 24th and last lap, Alain passed John Karklin jr to finish the event in fifth place. Local hero, Rick Wilson won the event.

'The season should be exciting because the car behaves very well and we must say that we did not have too much success at Brockville in the past, so we are very confident for the season ', said Alain. Daniel Lampron drove the second car of Team Bergeron but a problem with the ' power steering ' in his heat prevented him to be in the A-Main. Not less than 28 Sprints were present to try to qualify for the 22 places available on A-Main grid. Tonight (Saturday), Team Bergeron and the ESS series will be at Can-Am NY. Details to come …
